Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

When you use Klynchat, we collect:

  • Phone number used to create and secure your account (verified via Twilio SMS)
  • Profile information you choose to provide (name, photo, about)
  • Message content, photos, and documents sent through the app
  • Technical metadata (timestamps, IP address, device type) used for anomaly detection and fraud prevention
  • Audit log of sign-ins, verification codes, and sensitive admin actions

2. How we use data

Your data is used strictly to:

  • Authenticate users and secure accounts
  • Deliver messages and calls to intended recipients
  • Detect and block suspicious activity (SIM swap, spam, impersonation)
  • Comply with legal obligations applicable to AJIC

We do not sell any personal data. No third-party advertising is shown in Klynchat.

3. Encryption

Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit via TLS 1.3. Sensitive data at rest is encrypted with AES-256. A future Klynchat release will introduce end-to-end encryption (Signal protocol) for private conversations.

4. Sharing

Your data is only shared with:

  • Twilio, our SMS provider (processor bound by the same privacy requirements)
  • Competent legal authorities upon valid legal request

5. Retention

Messages are kept as long as your account is active. Technical metadata is retained for up to 12 months. Security audit logs may be retained up to 24 months.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR (EU) and PIPEDA (Canada), you have the right to:

  • Access your data and request a copy
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities
  • Lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority

7. Minors

Klynchat is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals in that age group.
